| Designing a Signature Album | ||||||||||
Designing a Signature Album requires a detailed, interactive, artistic process that is very different than that followed by other photographers. It starts months before the wedding with a pre-wedding conference where, in additional to scheduling information, subjective personal information is gathered from the couple. It is this personal information that lays the foundation for the wedding. The wedding day starts with photographing the groom two-and-one-half hours before the wedding. Most often the day ends with special pictures an hour after the reception ends. Guy, assisted by his son, personally photographs every wedding. 700 to 1,000 pictures are taken at a wedding from which 100 pictures of different sizes are assembled in an album of 60 to 64 pages..

Because A Signature Album is edited from so many pictures and includes images of varied sizes it would be overwhelming for a couple to plan their wedding album from scratch. Thus, the designing of the album is an essential element of the signature process. It is an interactive process that brings together the best of two worlds, Guy's experience and artistic talents, and the couples more personal knowledge of people involved. Once planned, a six-step process is followed to complete the album. STEP ONE - I edit the 700 to 1,000 pictures taken at your wedding on the computer and have 200 4X5 pictures made from which a Proposal Album is edited. The remaining unused pictures are shown as proof sheets. A photo CD of the same unused pictures allows you to view each picture more closely on your computer. An optional upgrade allows you to have your pictures posted to the Internet.

STEP TWO - Guy edits to create a Proposal Album that has a strong story, flows well, and has impact. The use of different size images, picture and page arrangement, digital enhancement, and Theme Pages assure the uniqueness of every album. At this time a variety of optional upgrades are proposed for consideration. The Proposal Album and all the unused pictures taken at the wedding in the form of proof sheets and CD are sent to the couple. (Three months) Examples of Digital Enhancement Examples of Theme Pages STEP THREE - The couple reviews the Proposal Album and CD of unused pictures and makes preliminary changes. Optional upgrades are selected and the Proposal Album, orders for gift pictures, parent albums, and wall portraits are returned to the studio (two months)

STEP FOUR - Guy makes up a completed looking Working Album with the actual pictures that will be used in the final album. The Working Album is returned to the couple. (Four to six weeks) STEP FIVE - The couple fine-tunes their album by possibly changing additional pictures, adjusting sequences to improve flow, or deciding if to include a panorama for impact. (One month) STEP SIX - Guy implements the personal modifications suggested by the couple and has the final album assembled or bound. The finished album is ready for delivery. (Two months for Futura Albums - four months for library bound Classic Albums) For out-of-towners the process can involve as few as one trip to the studio for the pre-wedding conference. Our new web site provides detailed information that enable couples to book and plan their wedding over the Internet. The interactive editing process is very often done by a combination of mail, phone, and the Internet. Local and regional clients often come to the studio for personal input. Designing an album that is a poetic, spontaneous, artistic depiction of the real events and emotions of your unique wedding day does require a detailed, time consuming, interactive process. The result, the Signature Album, is more pleasing to couples than they expected.
