The Signature Album
Overiew
The Signature Album is an artistic creation and the culmination of my 39 years experience photographing people and weddings.

It is like nothing you've seen before. It is perhaps easiest to first explain what a Signature Album is not. The album is not a sequence of formulas used at every wedding. It is not posed. It is not imposed. Your wedding will not be a day spent staging pictures for an over-controlling photographer.

So what is it? A Signature Album is a creative, poetic, spontaneous and artistic depiction of the real events and emotions of your unique wedding day. It is based on a few simple principles. As a wedding story told without words, each photograph, or grouping of photographs, must depict emotions as well as actions. The emotion of a wedding is best captured through the interaction of the couple with family, special friends and each other.

Photographing when subjects are unaware they are being photographed provide the elements that add the savor to the wedding story. The overall goal of a Signature Album is to capture who the couple is, not who they are "posed" to be.

There are five aspects that constitute the Signature Album's uniqueness:

1. The combination of Story and Emotion
2. A Balance between Realism and Romanticism
3. The utilization of Digital Enhancement to create special pictures
4. The Interpretative Approach to photographing a wedding
5. Designing the Signature Album

The combination of Story and Emotion reflect one factor of my philosophy that is best achieved by dividing a wedding day into three distinct sections. The first section emphasizes the individuals and the formation of their new identities as Mr. and Mrs.

The second section captures the celebration that ensues. The third section focuses on a romantic ending of the day.

The balance created between Realism and Romanticism is a second philosophical aspect. The actual events of the day form the foundation for the album and the realism of the story. Pictures are taken in a photo journalistic style without any attempt to control or interpret the events as they occur. The addition of the Romantic characteristics, a unique quality of my work, is photographed in an impressionistic style emphasizing sensory impression.

These images dramatize quiet, passionate moments of interaction between the bride and groom.

Digital Enhancement ensures the perfection of the album and increases the creative options for embellishing the romantic images it includes. While most couples include only five to fifteen pictures in their album, their inclusion drastically improves the telling of the story, heightens the emotional content, and gives rise to unlimited creative opportunities.

Applying the philosophical components results in an interpretative approach to photographing your wedding. The process begins many months before the wedding in a pre-wedding conference. Discussion with the couple focuses on artistic and photographic preferences, as well as elements that will make them, their family, and their wedding day special. This information helps me to visualize many aspects of the album prior to its creation, as well as influences the emphasis placed on different incidents of the wedding day.

Guy Grube uses his expertise and artistic talents to design each Signature Album. The couple modifies the Proposal and Working Albums in two steps of a five step interactive process of Album Design. The resulting Signature Album is more pleasing to couples than they expected.
